As he stumbled home, drowning his rejected love sorrows in alcohol, Yoshida, a 26-year-old office worker, stumbled upon a high school girl named Sayu sitting on the roadside. Despite his inebriated state, Yoshida offered Sayu a place to crash for the night after learning she had run away from home. Reluctant to leave the girl out in the cold, Yoshida agreed to let her stay, unwittingly setting the tone for a peculiar yet endearing bond between a runaway high schooler and a working adult.
